Set up a E-mail Alias for a user and set it as their default e-mail address. Create a new e-mail and note the "From" field is populated with their orginal e-mail address not the default e-mail that was set (i.e. the e-mail alias).
Set up a new e-mail alias for a user and under user preferences set the "Default E-mail address" to the new email alias.
Create a new e-mail and the "From" field will be populated with the orginal e-mail address, not the newly set "Default E-mail Address".
This issue is not reproducible in Sage CRM Version 7.2d.
