A customer may have a requirement to limit the amount of logging carried out by the CRM Indexer Service. It is possible to remove old log file entries using a scheduled task.
The following command can be scheduled using the Windows Task Scheduler:
forfiles /P "C:\Program Files (x86)\Sage\CRM\Services\Logs" /D -2 /M *CRMSearchIndex.log /C "cmd /c del @file"
This will delete all search index logs once they're a couple of days old. An alternative might be to use a command line zip tool to archive old files (again, using forfiles), and then delete them once you want to get rid of them.
If the customer is using an older version of Windows that doesn't include the forfiles tool, they can download it as part of the Windows Server 2003 Resource Kit.
