The Sage CRM for iPhone beta component provides a new theme for Sage CRM designed specifically
for iPhone users - this blog article shows you how you can use it.
In order to use this functionality, your CRM administrator must have installed
the “Sage CRM for iPhone beta” component, and your CRM license must
include the mobile option. Your CRM installation must be accessible over the
internet, or through a VPN which your iPhone can connect to.
Open Safari on your iPhone. In the address
box enter the address of your iPhone installation. This will be the same
address you enter using Internet Explorer on your PC

The iPhone allows you to add an icon to
your home screen to easily access your favourite websites. One advantage of
this is that when you access a link from the home screen, the address and
button bars are not displayed, providing you with a larger display area.
Press the “Plus” button on the toolbar at

Safari will close, and a Sage CRM icon will
appear on your home screen.

to the login page, this time in full screen mode.

“logon” button at the top of the page.

If you want to update a record, press the
“Change” button at the top of the page. Note that your administrator might have
disabled updates to certain types of information to ensure that the workflow is
not compromised. If this is the case, then the change button will not appear.
The record will appear in edit mode. Press
on the field you wish to update. Note that different entry types will open a
different type of interface.
When you have completed your changes, press
the “Save” button at the top of the page.
From the home menu press “New”. You will be
shown a list of record types that you have access to create:
Select the one you wish to create and you
will be brought to the entry screen. This will be the same as the update record
screen (see previous section), and the same controls will appear.
Note: Any required fields are marked with
an asterisk after the field name.
When you have completed your changes, press
the “Save” button at the top of the page. If there are any validation errors,
you will receive a pop-up message and any required fields will appear in red.
If the required fields have been completed,
you’ll be brought to the summary screen
You can view your calendar, communications,
dashboard and various other entities in the “My CRM” section. From the home
screen, press the “My CRM” link.
You can view your calendar in day or week
While in day view, you can press on a time
to add an appointment for that timeslot. If you’re in week view, then you can press on a day to be brought to the summary for that day.

You can view a classic-style Sage CRM dashboard
on the iPhone. To do this, you need to log in to Sage CRM from a desktop
browser and create a classic-style dashboard, selecting the ‘Set as Mobile Dashboard’
option. When you have completed the setup in the full browser, the dashboard is
now accessible from your iPhone.
You can view reports on your iPhone if you
have the appropriate rights. Press on Reports on the Home menu. A list of report
categories and reports will be displayed. Press the category dropdown list and
choose a different category to see the list of reports for that category.
Select the report you wish to run. If there
are search or filter options available for the report, you will be presented
with these and may fill them in as required.

Press the “Send us Feedback” link on the
home menu. A feedback form will be displayed. Enter your details and comments
and press the “Send” button at the top of the page.
This will send a message to us and you will
be brought back to the home menu.
Problem: The iPhone theme is not displayed on my iPhone
deviceSolution: Your iPhone might not be mapped to the iPhone theme in CRM. Contact
your CRM administrator and they will be able to map your phone to the theme.

displayed when CRM is accessed through a link on the home screenSolution: The iPhone identifies itself with a slightly different browser type
when a link is accessed from the home screen. Contact your CRM administrator
and they will be able to map your phone to the theme.
Problem: iPhone can’t locate CRM webserverSolution: Ensure that the CRM installation is either publicly accessible or
that the iPhone is connecting to a VPN that can access the CRM installation.
Problem: Default logon screen displayed instead of the iPhone one.Solution: This can happen if the metadata for CRM hasn’t been loaded yet. Log
in, and the correct theme will be displayed. If not, contact your CRM
administrator and they will be able to map your phone to the theme.
