Group Mass Email issue

Hello,

We're having an issue when sending emails to groups where sometimes it will send a blank email to the same group, but from the logged in user's email address.

The only link I can make is that the "New email" page defaults to a logged in user's email address and blank email body content, which is then being reposted for some reason.

As you can imagine this is quite an issue when emails are being sent to many thousands of recipients.

Is there any way to add some validation to the page so that it won't send if the email body content is empty? Can't seem to find an easy way through the Customisation menus.

    What version are you using?

    If the 'Send E-mail' button on the Group 'Send Mass E-mail' is pressed then the user would get a message "You are sending xxx E-mails. Only records with valid E-mail addresses have been included. Do you wish to continue?".  So there is a manual step to confirm the sending of the emails.  If blank emails are being sent automatically then something is by-passing this check.

    Do you see the manual check?

    Thank you for the prompt response.

    We're currently using version 7.3 SP2.1.

    That's a very good point, we do see that message when sending a mass email so it must be due to another issue.

    Could we block any SMTP calls if the body content is blank in the underlying .NET?

    Is this something you've seen happen before?
