Editing documents using Chrome (Sage CRM 2018 R2)

This question is not answered

Is there going to any changes in Sage CRM to allow the "edit attachment" button , when using Chrome ? It's incredibly frustrating for our end users to having to keep switching browsers when they want to edit attachments.

Also explaining this loss of functionality to end users is rather perplexing. We can add documents , but not edit them. If someone can provide some explanation that sounds reasonable that I could pass on, that would help me considerably!

  • I also agree that editing documents should be available in Chrome. Internet Explorer is not going to be here for ever and even Edge is going to be running on Chromium

  • As far as I am aware this is not possible because this functionality requires ActiveX interoperability (via NPAPI plugin), which only IE offers. This type of plugin is not supported in modern browsers.

  • We are listening and we are taking note.  We are very much aware of the need to plan beyond IE and this has been added to the set of requirements and 'stories' within the product management system.  That means we are just looking at where and how we can drop this into the roadmap.

  • Hi Jeff,

I would like to add my support to this request.  We have clients who are in desperate need of this in Chrome.

  • Hi All, The mail merge app that comes with our Accelerator for Sage CRM product allows you merge and edit documents (actually it creates a new version). It also does Excel merge.
