A client of ours has Sage 200 Accounts and Sage CRM 6.2(standalone).

They wish to Upgrade to Sage 200 2011 and Sage 200 CRM 7.1 (integrated).

I asked Sage Support and they recommend installing Sage 200 CRM 6.2 over the standalone 6.2, setting up the integration in both CRM and Sage 200 and synchronising. They then recommended upgrading Sage 200 to 2010 and Sage 200 CRM to 7.0, synchronising and then upgrading again up to 2011/7.1.

However, nothing is as simple in real life as this apparently they already have the Sage 200 upgraded to 2011.

I was thinking is it therefore possible to do the following:

1.       Upgrade CRM 6.2 to 7.0

2.       Set up the integration details in Sage 200 2011

3.       Install Sage 200 CRM 7.1 over the CRM 7.0 (standalone)

4.       Set up integration settings on the Sage 200 CRM

5.       Set Accounts to be linked manually between CRM and Sage 200

6.       Run Synchronisation

7.       Manually link the existing Accounts in Sage 200 to the Companies in CRM

8.       Synchronise

9.       Reset the automatic linking of Companies and Accounts

10.     Synchronise.
